The information listed below are the names and details of scholarships available to Eau Claire Memorial High School students. Applications and application information are available in the bins by the TV in Student Services and on the MHS website – mid-center of page.

Scholarships are based on many different criteria, such as grades, test scores, character, extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, and financial need. It is important to note that scholarships are designed for many types of career interests and GPA’s vary.

Tips for Winning Scholarships

*Please contact the post-secondary school of your choice (The Admissions Office and/or the Financial Aid Office) to review any potential scholarships you may be eligible for. *

                        Hardcopies of current scholarships can be picked-up in Student Services or emailed to you upon request.

Select scholarships can also be accessed and submitted on the Scholarships Canvas page. 

Scholarships denoted with an asterisk (*) symbol indicates that the scholarship will be reviewed and/or awarded by an internal scholarship committee.


DAR Good Citizens Program

The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. DAR Good Citizens who enter the scholarship contest are eligible for the awards beyond the chapter level. Each state winner receives an award in the amount of at least $500 and a special state DAR Good Citizens pin and certificate. Each of the eight division winners will receive a cash award in the amount of $1,000. A national winner will be invited to Washington, DC to attend Continental Congress and will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship, an inscribed silver bowl and a certificate.

Chick-fil-A Community Scholars

Every year, up to thirteen (13) $25,000 scholarships are awarded to students based on academic success, community service and financial need. The Chick-fil-A Community Scholars also participate in the Chick-fil-A Scholars Program, a one-year engagement that includes mentoring and leadership development alongside our Chick-fil-A $25k Remarkable Futures Scholars. Through this program, we recognize remarkable individuals who share our dedication to caring for others and caring for their communities.

VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars' VFW's) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 26,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year's theme is, "How Are You Showing Patriotism And Support For Our Country?"

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Current high school seniors who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply. Students do not need to be a member of the Elks. Male and female students compete separately. Students must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Applications will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship

This scholarship is based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's scholarship programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. Students must also demonstrate significant unmet financial need.

The Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students in the high school graduating class. The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education and graduate debt-free. And, to provide each recipient with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum.

 Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) Scholarships

The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) is proud to offer four scholarships with the support and partnership of Xello and Method Learning.

Burger King Foundation

The BURGER KING Scholars program assists high school seniors in the United States in continuing their education. Integrity, high standards, entrepreneurial spirit, good citizenship, and education were the values that defined BURGER KING brand co-founder James. W. McLamore. It was those values that helped realize a dream and it is those same values that are the core of the BURGER KING Foundation, which will continue to build on his legacy and his commitment to education.

Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin Scholarships

The scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who plan to study engineering at a four-year accredited program leading to a baccalaureate degree in engineering and intend to enter the profession of engineering upon graduation. Each applicant will be considered for all of the scholarships.

Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) Scholarship

Each year the Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) awards scholarships to Wisconsin students enrolling in a course of study leading to a degree in police science or criminal justice.

The deadline is Thursday, January 15, 2026. All applications must be postmarked by the deadline date. 


 The Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association Scholarships

The Foundation of Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association awards 70 to 100 scholarships per year to students attending Wisconsin Technical colleges for: Automotive, Diesel, Auto Collision and Motorcycle technician programs.

The Distinguished Raven FAC Memorial Scholarship

Descendants or legal wards of any Lao or Hmong individual who served in the Royal Laotian Military or Hmong forces in defense of the Kingdom of Laos between 1960 and 1975 are eligible to compete for this scholarship. No individual may be selected for two consecutive years, nor may he/she receive more than two scholarships. Applicants must be a high school senior or graduated and must be enrolled or actively seeking to enroll full time in the coming academic year in an undergraduate program of studies leading to a Bachelor or Associate Degree at an accredited college, junior college, or university in the United States. Technical school attendees will also be considered.

WESTconsin Credit Union Scholarship

All application materials must be submitted online using AwardSpring. No hard copies of application materials will be accepted. Students need to have been a primary account holder with WESTconsin Credit Union as of August 31, 2025 to be eligible for this year's program. Current high school juniors need to become a primary account holder with WESTconsin as of August 31, 2026 to be eligible for next year's program.

Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards

The Legacy Awards program provides $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members. The Elks National Foundation offers a total of 350 national awards.

 The deadline is Monday, February 2, 2026, 11:59 a.m. Pacific Time. NOTE: This is NOON, mid-day, Pacific time. 


Be Bold No Essay Scholarship

The $25,000 “Be Bold” Scholarship is a no-essay scholarship that will be awarded to the applicant with the boldest profile.

To us, boldest does not mean “best”, or “most accomplished”. Being bold means being:

  • Earnest
  • Determined
  • Moving

The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose profile is most bold, according to these characteristics.

There is a rolling deadline. Students who apply earlier will have a better chance of winning the scholarship.


Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program at UW-Madison

The Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program at UW-Madison offers a four-year merit based scholarship to academically talented and outstanding students who have experienced hardship or disadvantages, which have impacted their educational opportunities. Students are chosen from a national pool of high school seniors for their potential to succeed in a rigorous academic environment. The office of Admissions & Recruitment reviews all applications to UW-Madison to determine eligibility and makes selections. There is no separate scholarship application.

Scholarships & Resources for Native American and Alaskan Native Students

Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a post-secondary institution, be at least a one-quarter member of a federally recognized Native American Tribe and have a minimum 2.25 GPA.

The TIP grant aids low-income and disadvantaged Wisconsin students with additional college funding to help reduce the student’s amount of loan, work-study, or unmet need.
