Statement of Priorities:
The Student Service Department's primary dedication is to the student--to help in every possible way to prepare students for post-secondary success as well as a productive and personally satisfying adult life. Memorial High School counselors recognize the need for and the importance of open communication between counselor, student, teacher, and parents.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the ECASD comprehensive school counseling program is to assist all students in acquiring and refining the skills, knowledge and personal assets necessary to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.

The School Counselors:
- Provide individual counseling
- Facilitate support groups
- Assist students in planning their high school course of study
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to help students succeed
- Assist individuals to effectively access community resources
- Administer tests and review results to provide information about abilities, needs, achievements and interests
- Coordinate efforts with other school specialists
- Coordinate referrals to outside agencies
- Assist students with post-high school planning
